Before you start
- Use Chrome or Edge on a laptop, with a headset (earbuds with a mic are fine). A phone browser works, but a laptop is easier.
- Open the link CMM sent you. It signs you in. Keep it to yourself: it is your login.
- The first time you press Call, the browser asks to use your microphone. Click Allow.
- Calls run 8:00am–8:00pm Central, Monday to Saturday. Outside those hours the Call button stays off.
Each call
- Press Next contact. You'll see the voter's name, number, precinct and any notes from earlier calls. Nothing dials yet.
- Press Call. You'll hear it ring. When they answer, the status changes to Connected.
- Start with the opening line at the top of the script, word for word: who you are, who you're calling for, and who paid for the call. Then follow the script.
- End with the closing line. Then press Hang up.
- Pick a result, add a note if it helps, and press Save result.
- Press Next contact for the next person. Every call needs its own press of Call.
Which result?
- No answer: no one picked up, or the line was busy. They'll come back later in the list.
- Left message (live only): you spoke a message yourself to a person or to voicemail. Never play a recording.
- Wrong number: the person isn't the voter on the card.
- Do not call: they asked not to be called. Use it every time someone asks. It blocks the number for every campaign.
- Needs ride: add the pickup address and the best time in the note.
If something goes wrong
- "The browser blocked the microphone": click the lock icon next to the address, set Microphone to Allow, then press Call again.
- You hear a message instead of ringing (for example "Calling ended at 8:00pm"): the call was not placed. The screen shows the reason.
- The page closed mid-call: open your link again. Your contact is still there; save a result for it.
- You can't press Next contact: save a result for the current person first. If you never called them, use Skip (not called).
- Anything else: contact your CMM organizer.
Keep it private
Voter information on the screen is for this call only. Don't copy it, screenshot it or share it.
